Putting this up for contrast between yesterday’s dressed up look 😘 I call this vibe “had to wake up earlier than I wanted to so I could get a kid to wrestling practice” and it’s one of my go to looks! 😆

Spent 30 minutes downtown this morning and stopped by three of my fav local stores and crossed off multiple people on my shopping list! AND snagged a healthy lunch for later and my juices for the week.

This year has been…a lot. Between multiple surgeries to revise my mastectomy, the stress and trauma of navigating my daughter’s stalking case (and the ongoing fight to change Wyoming’s laws), and my mother’s cancer diagnosis and passing in July…running simply fell away. I couldn’t make myself do it.

I stuck with hiking and long walks, but for those of you who’ve been here awhile, you know running has always been how I process my emotions and untangle the hard stuff. It’s no coincidence I trained for, and ran, my first full marathon during the year my daughter was being stalked by an, at the time, unknown person. Running was one of the only healthy outlets I had for my fear and pain.

Quietly, when my heart finally said “it’s time,” I started running again in October. And today, I finished my first 5K.

A year ago, I could run 26 miles without stopping. To some, today’s 3.1 miles might look small. But to me? It’s everything. It’s a sign that I’m getting stronger…and that maybe…just maybe…I’m beginning to heal.
