One Stop Holiday Shopping? There’s an App for That!

Posted December 5, 2013 by Prairie Wife -

Believe it or not, Prairie Wife and I put a lot of thought into planning the topics of our blog posts and social media strategy so it is timely, relevant and meets Our Prairie Wife Guarantee. As we started talking about the Christmas holiday and shopping for everyone on our lists, we agreed that we needed to take a different approach with December content. We are certain you are familiar with Google, are online shopping savvy and love the same magazines we do, so odds are you can find all of the same products we did as we surfed our favorite websites. That’s why you have stories on presents for teensand gifts that give back, topics you don’t find everywhere else.

During one of our chats I did get PW to agree that I could share my favorite free app for holiday shopping—Nordstrom. On the main page they have a section titled “Holiday Gifts,” and trust me, you will want to click on it immediately. They have categories like “Gifts for the Home” or “Gifts for Men,” and those sections are divided into quick and easy ways to shop—by price, luxury gifts, gift sets, stocking stuffers or featured brand. They have a strong search feature and an even better filter. As much as I love browsing their site to shop (and finish my wish list), I also enjoy their blogs, videos and the “Daily Style Scoop.” They have obviously designed the mobile site to replicate the in-store shopping experience at Nordstrom, which is always about service and style, but they also seem to understand my limited time for shopping requires speed and efficiency.

P.S. Prairie Wife also pointed out that for a limited time Nordstrom is having a product review sweepstakes where you have a chance to win a $500 gift card. Wouldn’t that make your holiday extra merry and bright?
