It’s time to announce our book for the Prairie Wife Virtual Book Club: May 2024

This monthly Virtual Book Club is all thanks to Wind City Books, an Indie Bookstore in Downtown Casper, Wyoming.

Miranda from Wind City Books can ship you our book club book WHEREVER YOU LIVE, so please use the link provided below to purchase your Prairie Wife Book Club books.

If you’re feeling lucky, you can also enter the giveaway at the end of this post to WIN a copy of this month’s book. The winner will be chosen on May 13, so the book will have plenty of time to reach you before our Prairie Wife Virtual Book Chat!

So, how does The Prairie Wife Virtual Book Club Work?

It’s easy (I promise) and available to ANYONE who wants to join.

You don’t need social media because we’re doing it all with Zoom!

At our hour-long Virtual Book Club meeting, we will heavily discuss this month’s book using the questions given below the review as a guide.

Don’t forget to enter our GIVEAWAY at the end when you’re done learning about our book choice for the month.

The Husbands by Holly Gramazio

The last few books we’ve read for book club have been intense, so we thought it would be good to pick something a bit lighter for this month!

Here’s what the publisher had to say about “The Husbands”:

When Lauren returns home to her flat in London late one night, she is greeted at the door by her husband, Michael. There’s only one problem—she’s not married. She’s never seen this man before in her life. But according to her friends, her much-improved decor, and the photos on her phone, they’ve been together for years.

As Lauren tries to puzzle out how she could be married to someone she can’t remember meeting, Michael goes to the attic to change a lightbulb and abruptly disappears. In his place, a new man emerges, and a new, slightly altered life re-forms around her. Realizing that her attic is creating an infinite supply of husbands, Lauren confronts the question: If swapping lives is as easy as changing a lightbulb, how do you know you’ve taken the right path? When do you stop trying to do better and start actually living?

  • What do you think of the book’s title?
    • How does it relate to the book’s contents?
    • What other title might you choose?
  • Which character did you relate to or empathize with the most?
  • If you had to trade places with one character, who would it be?
  • Would you fall for any of the characters?
  • Did this book impact you emotionally?
  • Did you race to the end, or was it more of a slow burn?
  • What do you think happens to the characters after the book’s official ending?
  • Did reading the book impact your mood? If yes, how so?
  • Would you read any other books by this author?

To enter the GIVEAWAY all you HAVE to do is let us know in the comment section below why you want to read our May 2024 Book Club Pick “The Husbands”

Just when it seems like there are no unique plots, this one seems to have promise.

  2. Michelle says:

I really like memory loss books. They are kind of trippy. This reminds me of Remember Me by Sophie Kinsella

    1. Prairie Wife says:

I love those types of books too! You should also look at “Sometimes I Lie” by Alice Feeney I bet you’d like it.

  3. Audrey Stewart says:

I’m an avid reader and I haven’t read this book. Holly Gramazio is a new author to me.

  4. Raedel L Kellogg says:

Life has been very intense and I am looking to read something not so intense. This book doesn’t look like any book I have read in the past and I have read thousands.
