Here Comes the Sunscreen #Giveaway
Posted June 21, 2014 by Texas Two Steppin' - 24 comments
Today is the first day of summer, and we all know that means that we should be slathering on the sunscreen. Kendra Richards, our recent Prairie Wife of the Week and makeup artist to the stars, says sunscreen and sleep are the two things every women should focus on to keep her skin beautiful. The first tip in this Lucky magazine slide show explaining how we can get a glowing complexion is to use sunscreen. Harper’s Bazaar knows sunscreen is the secret to keep your decolletage looking young. Marie Claire‘s resident dermatologist Dr. Amy Wechsler even suggests wearing it while we drive in the car.
So why don’t we use sunscreen regularly? I bet you’re like me and are adamant about putting it on the kids (grandkid in my case) but don’t always take two minutes to spray it on yourself. My olive skin tans easily, so I don’t have the “burn factor” to tell me to get out of the brutal Texas sun. I tell myself a few minutes without protection won’t hurt anything, my melasma is from hormones and not the sun, I just need a little bit of color, tan cellulite looks better than pale cellulite, etc. I am sure you have your own excuses, but the bottom line is we all know going without sunscreen is irresponsible and unhealthy. Kind of like driving without a seat belt or eating cake and cookies at every meal. Fellow Prairie Wives, join me in taking a pledge to take care of our skin this summer so we don’t look like the individuals in this slideshow!
Well, one of our former Prairie Wives of the Week is making it incredibly easy for two (Yes, TWO) of our readers to get a generous tube of Rodan+Fields sunscreen. One person will receive the Essentials Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Body Sunscreen. The other winner has his/her choice of the Soothe Mineral Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30 or Reverse Broad Spectrum SPF 50+. And if you have any questions about the products or don’t win the prize, feel free to purchase your own bottle by contacting Katy at firstname.lastname@example.org. Good luck, stay protected and don’t forget about our pledge!
