Essential Oil Diffuser Blends To Help Kick The Winter Blues

Posted December 1, 2020 by Prairie Wife - 2 comments

The Winter Blues are real, and this year I’m feeling them earlier than I ever have before.

I’m sure it has a lot to do with the ups and downs that 2020 has brought us, and when I shared my thoughts the other day I learned that I am not alone.

In a recent “Little Chat on the Prairie” video, I talked about my ongoing struggle with seasonal depression and mentioned that I use fresh air and exercise to help me kick the Winter Blues to the curb.

When there isn’t enough snow for snowshoeing or skiing I hit the dirt road for a quick walk with the dogs or a local path with a friend. Yes, at times we have to bundle up, and if the wind is especially bad we keep it short and sweet, but I ALWAYS feel better afterward!

Even a quick walk with the kids to get the mail helps me to balance my mood.

I also commented in the video that using certain essential oil blends in my diffuser has helped me beat the winter blues over the years.

Several of you asked me both publicly and privately what blends I found helpful so I thought I would share a few of them here.

These blends can also be combined with grape seed oil to create a blend that can be dabbed on your wrists (at your pulse points) to help boost your mood.

Do you have a favorite essential oil diffuser blend that helps lift your mood and beat the winter blues?

Leave it in the comments so we can all enjoy it!
