It’s Our 11 Year Blogiversary Here At PrairieWifeInHeels.com

Can you believe that it’s our 11 year blogiversary here at PrairieWifeInHeels.com?

When we began this journey, I only had four children, and Cowboy J was 7 years old!

Now we have 5 Cowkids, and Cowboy J is a Freshman in COLLEGE.

I have gone from keeping our identities a secret to being on stage in front of hundreds of people across the Western United States multiple times a year.

From posts discussing pregnancy and potty training to how to navigate children being old enough to date and writing college application essays.

This last year has been a busy one, and while I’ve embraced the busyness and the new opportunities that have come my way, I’ve had to step back from some of what used to be.

For the last 6 months, a busy mom life schedule, training for a marathon, and more work events than ever before (that have me traveling hundreds of miles a week) have made it impossible to regularly write and post here on the blog like I used to.

I hope to return to more time spent writing blog posts as I take time off from events for my upcoming surgery and recovery.

I’ve missed writing so much, and I have dozens of half-written posts and notes saved onto my phone, just waiting to see the light of day.

The social media growth we’ve experienced this last year has been phenomenal, and what a gift to have so many more people to connect with…a community of people who are here together to learn how to live a life of grit and grace!

But this has meant I’ve had to embrace creating video content and that I can no longer take a few days away from social media when I’m feeling overwhelmed.

Thankfully, I now have a social media manager who can step in for a week here and there when I have no choice. For example, she’ll be spending time with you while I recover from surgery next month. I can trust her to keep an eye on comments and ensure that PrairieWifeInHeels.com is the safe and positive place you’ve come to love.

When I began this blog, I was an overwhelmed, sometimes lonely, sleep-deprived, 31-year-old mom…searching for connection with like-minded women and trying to fulfill a need to be the person for others that I always wanted but never had.

I often wrote 3 to 4 posts a week. My focus was offering honest and thoughtful (with a bit of humor) posts about life here on the Wyoming Prairie.

Now, as a 42-year-old mom of 5 stumbling her way through this joyfully chaotic life I’ve created, I find that I’m still staying true to our original mission.

And that’s something that makes me incredibly proud.

I now share my message of grit and grace through social media and public speaking instead of just here on the blog…but my mission remains the same.

We want to encourage others to live a life of grit and grace. We offer support through humorous, honest, and heartfelt blog posts about our lives. We use social media and speaking events to connect in an authentic way that gives anyone and everyone the tools they need to create a life they love.”

Thank you to each and every one of you who takes time out of your own joyfully chaotic lives to spend time here with us.

I appreciate it more than you know, and I hope we can all continue to share our lives and offer support to each other for at least another 11 years!

XOXO
