It’s time for our July/August 2022 Closet Cravings!
As I look at what I’m loving right now, I realized that these items are all about beating the heat while still being practical and cute.

A sweater in Summer?! Yes, I know it may seem crazy but hear me out. Since my Preventive Mastectomy, I have found it hard to stay warm. I tend to be fine when I’m outdoors, but indoors, the freezing cold air conditioning can make me INCREDIBLY uncomfortable. A lightweight knit sweater keeps me comfortable and looks great with everything. I can throw it over a dress or tank top or wear it with jean shorts and a lacy bra layered underneath. What I love about this style of feminine floral dress is that it works for any shape, age, and occasion. If you want a bit more of a sexy/youthful look, get a shorter-length dress with spaghetti straps. Need a bit more coverage? Try a midi length or floor length with a slit. Cowgirl this dress up with a Western belt, cowgirl hat, and boots. Make this dress beach wedding ready with a delicate necklace and earrings, and wedge heels (see my favs below). Pick a bold, bright pattern to stand out, and make it fall-ready by covering it up with a sweater and putting on a pair of tights and knee-high boots.
When I put on my wedge sandals for the first time this year, I knew that Summer had finally arrived. Not only are they the comfiest style heel EVER, they also go with everything! From flowy dresses and skirts to wearing them with a slinky tank and jean shorts, there isn’t a look that won’t be even better with these shoes. Flares, boot cut, skinny, or even cropped wide leg pants, these shoes look fabulous with every style of jeans you own. I like this espadrille wedge with wider straps because they fit comfortably and feel more stable when walking across the park for a wedding or across the dirt parking lot to head to a concert! And YES, I have one pair in nude and one in black because I wear this style so much.
I love graphic t shirts, so it shouldn’t be a big surprise that I love graphic t-shirt dresses too! Until recently most of them were a bit short for my taste…which was a problem I learned to solve with a pair of bike shorts. I was thrilled when I recently saw this style at a Douglas, Wyoming boutique Allure. This dress has a length I’m more comfortable with, but still has that sexy rocker vibe I love! Make it more western with boots and a cowgirl hat…or really rocker it up with some bold chunky jewelry and black leather booties.
