7 Favorite Beauty Products For 2024

Posted September 16, 2024 by Prairie Wife -

While I don’t claim to be a beauty blogger, I use a lot of beauty products as part of my job as an emcee and speaker. So, I thought I would share 7 of my favorite beauty products for 2024. None of the items cost over $50, and as usual, I have included links for you. Remember that I am in the 40-plus crowd and that some of these products are better for more mature skin and the issues that come with aging! Also, I am not affiliated with any of these brands and am not receiving compensation for this post…They’re just products that I use and love.

KORA Organics Noni Radiant Eye Oil

I first saw this when one of my favorite “mature” beauty content creators shared a video about it on her social media. I have incredibly sensitive skin under my eyes and constantly worry about trying new products. So I was thrilled when my High School Bestie tried it first and loved it. I purchased some for myself and love it. I don’t use it daily, but instead use it when I have an event. It has kept my undereye makeup from creasing when I’m under the lights and running around like a crazy person. I also use it on my no-makeup days for a fresher, more rested look. It has no color and is simply a light oil that tightens, brightens, and moisturizes your skin.

Pixi DetoxifEYE Depuffing Eye Patches

I have two different types of these patches, the one linked above and this one that tones and firms. I alternate between the two and use them at least twice weekly. I wash my face and then slap these on under my eyes while I wander around, picking out my clothes for the day or getting a few chores done around the house. When I remove them, I’m left with soft, firm, hydrated skin…trust me…the difference is instantly noticeable! I then follow my usual undereye cream/serum beauty routine. In the long term, I feel confident saying that using these patches has helped reduce the dark color under my eyes, as well as shortened the amount of time it takes for my face to de-puff after waking up.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

I love the look of false lashes but after years of trying to put them on myself…I’ve given up trying. This mascara is SO GOOD that when I’m wearing it, I often have people asking what type of false lashes I use. To me, that means it’s doing its job. Not only does this mascara go on wonderfully (barely any clumps), but the hourglass-shaped brush ensures that you get a bit of lift and curl as the formula sets. I have never had flaking with this formula, but I do get a bit of a smudge in the far corner under my eyes after a few hours. That has more to do with how my undereye bumps my lashes when I smile rather than something “wrong” with the formula. I can wipe under my eye with my finger to remove the smear and move on with my life. I do two applications of this mascara for a fancier look, but find that one application is plenty for my everyday look.

Skindinavia The Makeup Finishing Spray

I swear by this finishing spray, and I love it so much that I have one big bottle at home and multiple travel-size bottles to ensure I’m never without it. From outdoor events where it’s 100 degrees, to running through the snow to get into a winter event, this finishing spray keeps my makeup in place. A little bit goes a long way, and my large bottle lasts me months!  Another pro tip is to spray a small brush with this finishing spray and then use it to dab on makeup under your eyes, your eyeshadow, or your lipstick for extra staying power! It gets a bit shiny after a few hours on my skin, so I pat my face with my hands or tissue to keep it looking more matte.

Merit Brow 1980 Volumizing Pomade

I have never been someone who follows the eyebrow trends. I want a natural, full-looking brow that flies entirely under the radar. I want people to think I look great, that I have nice eyes, and not even notice what I’m doing with my brows because they fit my face. This Merit brow pomade does precisely that. I use the end to dab extra color where I need it (the inner corners of my brows are a bit sparse) and then comb the pomade through the rest of my brow in a quick upward motion. It adds the right amount of color and fullness and keeps my brows in place all day (or night) long!

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Body Gel Cream

Is this fancy? No. Does it smell like roses and newborn baby kisses? Also, no. But is this the best moisturizer I’ve ever used (and I’ve used it for years)? YES! It immediately soaks in, which means it is perfect for when you’re in a rush or using lotion on a hot, humid, warm day. It won’t leave white streaks on your black leggings or sports bra, and it keeps your skin supple and healthy even in the driest of Wyoming winters. It has no scent, so it won’t give you a headache if you’re sensitive to smells and won’t clash with your preferred perfume. It’s a 10/10 in my book.

Typology Tinted Serum

I have been using Typology skincare products for over two years now. I highly recommend taking their quiz and finding the best serums and face wash for your needs. I’m going to sneak in an eighth recommendation for a product here and tell you that my favorite serum of theirs is the 9 Ingredient Face Soothing Serum. But, if I HAD to pick my favorite Typology product, it would be their Tinted Serum. I use it for my daily “no makeup look” and then layer it on a bit heavier for meetings or date night. It covers up uneven skin tone and glides on smoothly without sinking into my smile lines. Combined with the setting spray above, it stays all day and keeps me looking glowy and fresh-faced! It even survived the heat and humidity of Italy when we went on our family vacation. A little bit goes a long way, and a few drops are enough for your daily look! I often combine a drop of this with my heavier foundation to help keep my skin moist and have smoother overall coverage.

Are there any beauty products you’re loving right now? Let me know in the comments.
