Don’t forget to enter our GIVEAWAY at the end when you’re done learning about our book choice for the month.
The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
This book was picked by Cowgirl G (and yes, she will be joining us for book club) because she loved it so much she insisted we HAD to read it. She said, “It’s a book that will keep you thoroughly engaged the whole time. It has many plot twists and tons of characters you will love!”
Here’s what the publisher had to say:
Aging and reclusive Hollywood movie icon Evelyn Hugo is finally ready to tell the truth about her glamorous and scandalous life. But when she chooses unknown magazine reporter Monique Grant for the job, no one is more astounded than Monique herself. Why her? Why now?
Monique is not exactly on top of the world. Her husband has left her, and her professional life is going nowhere. Regardless of why Evelyn has selected her to write her biography, Monique is determined to use this opportunity to jumpstart her career.
Summoned to Evelyn’s luxurious apartment, Monique listens in fascination as the actress tells her story. From making her way to Los Angeles in the 1950s to her decision to leave show business in the ‘80s, and, of course, the seven husbands along the way, Evelyn unspools a tale of ruthless ambition, unexpected friendship, and a great forbidden love. Monique begins to feel a very real connection to the legendary star, but as Evelyn’s story near its conclusion, it becomes clear that her life intersects with Monique’s own in tragic and irreversible ways.

This is the first time I have considered joining the monthly book club. The book’s title caught my attention. I’m willing to give the book a fair shake since cowgirl G highly recommended it.
Lol G has good taste I promise!
This book club sounds like a lot of fun! It has been a long time since I read a book like this, so it would be great to win a copy.
I think it’s going to be a wonderful read!
I read this book back in 2021 and LOVED IT! I want to read it again and would love a copy of my own!
I am in possession of the book. Will be devouring this weekend and then will pass along my thoughts here. Sorry I can’t join you properly for the discussion…end of semester rehearsals claimed my time first.
