Prairie Wife 2025 Gift Guide: Holiday Gift Ideas for the Whole Family
Posted December 5, 2025 by Prairie Wife -

Finding thoughtful and meaningful gifts for everyone on your list can feel overwhelming, which is why I’ve created this Prairie Wife 2025 Gift Guide filled with holiday gift ideas for the whole family. From practical to playful, there’s something here for everyone. Most items are well under $100 to help you stick to your holiday budget!
While I do include links for purchasing these items online, I encourage you to shop small. While the exact items may not be available locally, many of your local boutiques will have similar or related items! I also want to mention that gift cards to a favorite local shopping spot, spa, or restaurant/bar are another great gift that supports your local community and gives your loved one the chance to have a little guilt-free spending.

Babies and Toddlers
“Snuggle Puppy!: A Little Love Song” by Sandra Boynton Board Book. As a mom and ex-first-grade teacher, I love all of Boynton’s books. I’ve probably spent hundreds of hours reading them to my kids over the years. You can’t go wrong with any of them!
Fisher Price Little People Nativity Set. This is one of the best gifts we have ever given our kids, and it’s one they love to play with long past their toddler years. It’s a toy we only take out for December, and I think that makes it even more special.
VTech Baby Animal Rhymes Music Book. While we didn’t have this exact version of this book, the one we did have was a favorite with our babies and toddlers. It is a bit noisy, but my kids absolutely loved it, and it kept them entertained!

Ages 3 – 9
Melissa and Doug Dust Sweep Mop. My kids absolutely loved the set they had, like this. They used it when playing house or followed me around, mimicking me as I did my own chores.
A Home For Steamboat. Between the captivating story of Wyoming’s famous logo and the gorgeous, vibrant pictures, this story will become a favorite for the entire family.
Melissa and Doug Get Well Doctor Kit. This age is when kids should be playing imaginary and pretend games, and this doctor kit is as much fun for the littler ones as it is for the older kids. If you add a doll or stuffed animal to this gift, it will absolutely keep them entertained for hours.
LEGO Donut Truck LEGO is the perfect gift for school-age kids. There are SO MANY diverse sets that you can find something that will fit their interests exactly. From firetrucks to their favorite action movie to even flowers, take time to find them a set that best fits their personality. NOTE: Make sure you check the age recommendations on the LEGO kits to ensure they’re appropriate.
Calico Critters. These Calico Critters are an adorable gift that they can play with alone or with friends. They are a bit pricey, so in our home, it became a gift we added on to with more pieces (treehouse, accessories, friends) each birthday or holiday.
National Geographic Craft Kits. These STEM kits are always a big hit with my kids and give them something to do over the break. I would encourage you to talk to the parents first and make sure they are okay with this type of gift, and keep in mind that this gift is better for the older kids!

Tweens
Sports Team or State Pride Gear. Here in Wyoming, kids and adults alike love to wear gear showing their love for our state and their favorite team, the University of Wyoming Cowboys. You can’t go wrong getting a tween in your life, something that allows them to represent their home state or their favorite sports team. Make it extra special by having it customized with their name on the back or sleeve.
Makeup and Beauty Products. Tween girls love lip gloss, sweet-smelling lotions, and face masks. The gift of self-care goes a long way! Please check with parents first if you’re gifting makeup. Even lip gloss may be something they want to wait for until their children are older.
XShot Excell Ultimat Shootout Pack. This is not your regular Nerf gun! It is an entire kit with lots of guns and even six can targets. Nerf guns are great because they can be used both inside and outside, and encourage lots of physical activity.
Cozy Blankets. Tweens love cozy blankets. Whether they’re gamers or book lovers, they’ll feel secure and special anytime they curl up under a soft blanket.

Teens
Portable Bluetooth Speakers. Teens love music! These Bluetooth speakers are perfect for them to use in their own rooms or out and about, hanging out with friends.
Durable Jewelry. These “huggies” hoop earrings that are made to be one piece are what ALL the teen girls are wearing. They’re durable and cute, and they often “stack” them in their multiple ear piercings.
Name Brand Clothing. Teens are beginning to understand what others are wearing and are finding their own sense of style. They often have preferred name brands…and that isn’t always affordable for parents. We frequently use holidays to gift our kids pricier items that are wants, not needs.
Wireless Headphones. Wireless Headphones are something every teen wants. Some prefer the chunky over-the-ear sets, while others like the smaller ones that fit into their ears. It would be worth asking them (or a parent if you want to surprise them) what style they prefer. Also, make it fun and pick a great color that matches their vibe!

Adults (Female)
Vests. Buying clothing can be a risk, but a vest is usually a safe bet. They are very on trend right now, and you can find a style for your sporty/outdoor loving mom, cowgirl/western sister, or a gorgeous patterned one for your bestie.
Fresh Flowers for a Year. Having Fresh flowers in your home makes everything better. I suggest getting a certificate for fresh flowers to be available each month. You can either pick what is sent or let them know about the gift so they can enjoy selecting a new look each month.
Necklace Stacks. Necklace stacks are something many women ages 18-70 wear. It’s a group of 3 or more “simple” chains layered and worn together. All you need to do is pick between gold or silver (though many people mix them both together) and purchase a few necklaces to gift your loved one. Even if they already have a few…more is always better with this trend.

Adults (Male)
Meater Meat Thermometer. This is one of the most used tools in our home, and if your guy loves to be the one to BBQ or cook the Christmas roast, this is a gift he’ll love.
BBQ and Meal Prep Tub. The Cowboy has two of these and absolutely loves them. It’s a prep tub (or a tub so your meat can rest, covered, when it’s done) with sides that fold down, and it has a cutting board!
Smart Wool Socks. I don’t care who you are, or what you do, Smart Wool socks are absolutely the right gift. They have styles for everyone, and once you get used to their high-quality socks, there is no going back!

Grandparents
Digital Photo Frame. Admittedly, you may need to help your grandparents set this gift up (it does require wifi), but it’s been a massive hit with all our relatives. Hand out the information for that particular frame to family members, and then surprise your loved one with new pictures anytime you want!
Gift Boxes From Harry and David. Many of the grandparents in our lives don’t really want “things,” but it’s still nice to give them something. Harry and David offers a wide variety of gift boxes, and sending this gift ensures that guests have great treats and snacks when they come by. I also appreciate that they have many options, so the food restrictions that come with age can be accommodated.
Themed Blanket. A cozy, soft blanket is something that everyone loves. And, it’s even better if you take time to find one that fits the theme of the person you’re giving it to. If your grandpa was a Marine, find a great throw with the Marine Corps emblem. If your grandma loves to garden, a bold and bright flower-patterned blanket is sure to make her smile.
Around here, we’re always open to suggestions!
If you have any great gift ideas, we’d love to hear them.
Just leave them in the comments!
