Cheeseburger Salad
Posted June 14, 2024 by Prairie Wife -
It’s hot, and let me say I am NOT upset about this at all! But hot Summer days mean it’s hard to get inspired to cook, and most of our family favorites feel too “heavy” for this time of year. Cheeseburger Salad is a favorite Summer meal for us, and I especially love how it’s one of those meals where you can make do with whatever you have on hand!
I feel weird calling this a “recipe” because it’s really about throwing together a bunch of flavors and calling it a meal…so the directions below will be more about ideas of what to put in your salad rather than what you HAVE to do. Like anything I share here, this meal is easy, reasonably healthy, and a massive win with the Cowkids, who like the ability to customize their Cheeseburger Salad.
Cheeseburger Salad
Prep/Cook Time: 15 – 20 Minutes Serves: 8
Ingredients
2 Pounds of Ground Beef (wild game works too)
2 Cloves of Garlic
Approx 1tbsp Travelers Dust Dry Rub
Iceberg Lettuce
Spinach
Spring Greens Mix
Tomatoes
Onion
Avacado Slices
Chopped Sweet Peppers
Raw Jalapeno Circles
Cooked Bacon (Crumbled)
Shredded Cheese
Frozen French Fries
Pickle Slices
Crutons
Ranch Dressing
Thousand Island Dressing
- Warm Oven to 425 to bake Frozen French Fries
- Combine Ground Beef, garlic, and seasoning in the pan and cook on medium heat until well done.
- If you are frying Bacon for homemade Bacon Crumbles, this is the time to do that.
- While the fries are baking and the meat is cooking, chop vegetables and place them and the other ingredients into individual serving containers so your family can make their own combinations.
- Make your salad and eat it!
Would you add anything to this list of ingredients if you were making Cheeseburger Salad?
