12 Years of Blogging: Thank You for Being Part of the Journey
Posted October 30, 2025 by Prairie Wife - 4 comments

This month marks 12 incredible years of blogging, and I’m filled with gratitude for everyone who’s been part of this journey!
From the early days of blogging and nursing an 8-month-old, while I typed with one hand and learned to find my voice as a woman, wife, and mother, to now, where we have more than 60,000 social media followers and thousands of clicks on the site each week.

This milestone is a celebration of growth, connection, and the stories that have brought us all together.
When I first began this blog, it was to offer the support and connection to other women, wives, and mothers that I felt had been missing from my life.
Now more than a decade later, our mission has expanded to include everyone…
“We want to encourage others to live a life of grit and grace. We offer support through humorous, honest, and heartfelt blog posts about our lives. We use social media and speaking events to connect in an authentic way that gives anyone and everyone the tools they need to create a life they love.”
12 years ago, if you had told me that I would be using this blog to help create change in our state, to push our legislation to vote YES on a law that we wrote to protect children here in Wyoming, I would have laughed in disbelief!
However, I have seen firsthand how this small community that we have built together can have a HUGE impact.

And this was the year that a dream of mine came true…our first-ever Prairie Wife Retreat, “A Weekend With Prairie Wife”!
I always said that if I helped one person feel seen, if sharing my stories made one person feel like they could keep moving forward, then the space I had created and all the time and energy that had gone into it would be worth it.
Little did I know that it would be you who helped me to feel seen, you who encouraged me to keep moving forward when there were days when I felt that I could not go on.

About a month ago I shared the quote above and wrote this…
•In January 2025 my mother was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer.
•In February my son broke his elbow.
•In March my mom started chemotherapy, I had surgery, we had the trial for my daughter’s stalker, and we went public with our story.
•In April we testified in front of the Managment Council asking for them to consider our proposed stalking law changes.
•In May we testified in front of the Judiciary Committee.
•In July we went to court to modify our protection order and my mother passed away.
•In August we had my mother’s funeral and we testified again in front of the judiciary committee.
During all this time I also needed to care for my family, run my business, take care of my own health, and try and maintain friendships.
2025 has been brutal.
I haven’t even been able to begin to put into words what has been happening in my soul…I will be able to someday…but for now it’s simply too tender and heavy.
I am grateful for the loved ones that have let me cry, who have held me with their words and acts of compassion and kindness, who have sat with me in my pain and given me a safe space to be weak…rather than telling me that I’m strong and will be just fine.
God is good. But life is hard. And so I weep.
As I look back on 12 years of blogging, I’m reminded that this space has never truly been just mine; it belongs to all of you, too. Every comment, message, and shared post has shaped this journey in ways I could have never imagined. Thank you for reading, supporting, and growing alongside me through every season of life and writing.

Here’s to the next chapter, new stories to tell, and many more years of connection and creativity together.
XOXOXO

Congratulations! (And know I’m proud of you.)
Thanks for being a supporter from the very beginning!
Woe, 12 years! That is the big achievement. I remember think I started to follow you soon after you started your blog. I was working in New York City and I did that for 8 years and now I’ve been back working in Connecticut for about 4 years so I think I was one of your first followers. Of course I’m not trying to take away anything from all your other first followers, but I think I was there from the early days. Congratulations on evolving and continuing with your blogging.
You are 100% one of the first followers! I hope you know how much it means to me to still have you as such a vital part of this community we’ve created 🙂 Thank you!
