Labor Day Playlist

Today I am being totally and utterly lazy, ironic since it’s Labor Day….

It’s been a full week of back to school and football practice, and on top of my recovery from both surgery and pneumonia I have taken as much time as possible this weekend to just be still. Tomorrow the chaos begins again, and while I still can’t pick up LittleMissH or do household chores, I can drive the Cowkids back and forth, make lunches, homeschool, and nag with the best of them.

The Cowboy and Cowkids are taking care of all the household chores (including 10 loads of laundry) and I’m wasting time catching up with friends on Facebook.

Labor DayIt’s a total blast to see where everyone ended up this weekend.

I see pics of mountains, family reunions, beaches, and a FB feed that’s full of smiles, quality family/friend time and delicious looking food.

We may not be out and about today and getting caught up on chores but, that doesn’t mean we aren’t having a bit of fun later.

We’ve got a pizza party and movie night planned, and maybe even a bit of a dance party (it’s one of our favorite things to do)!

Just in case a few of you think that sounds like fun, I included a Labor Day Playlist below for you.

Maybe you need a pick me up as you drive those last few hours home, or some fun music to keep you company as you make that awesome pasta salad or sure to please dessert for a BBQ, whatever your up to take a second to check out these tunes.

Just like our family it’s a mix of rock and roll, old school country, and kid songs. Make sure you shuffle it when you listen, it’ll ensure the whole family is happy!

I snuck in each of the Cowkids’ theme songs (the song I just had to hear non stop when I was pregnant with them)…see if you can guess any of them.

The idea for this post came from the awesome people at Turo.com.

If you’re thinking of taking a road trip but don’t have a car they’re the perfect solution. It’s quick and easy to sign up, find the perfect car, book it and head off on an adventure.

If you have a vehicle and are in need of some extra cash, think about listing it for rental with Turo.com. List it for free, respond to requests, meet your guest, and kick back and earn!

We were NOT compensated in any way for this post, we just thought they were a great company with a great idea!

What are some of your go to weekend songs?

If you remember I’m still an 80’s big hair band fan so Poison, Nuthin’ but a Goid Time, Twisted Sister, I Wanna a Rock! Y&T, Summertime Girls, etc., plus classics from the Stones, VanHalen,ACDC, etc.

I made it to the gym, walked and did a yoga class. I did have a few things on my to-do list but didn’t get to all of them. I cut down my deck tomato plant, it was time, but the herbs, flowers and my jalapeño plants are still doing well. I want to go through my clothes and make a pile for Good Will. I just made some (box mix) corn muffins with a diced jalapeño in it to bring to the police station tomorrow.

I think I’ll read a little now and go through my clothes later.

Enjoy your non-labor day and relax and feel better.

You and The Cowboy would get along great, that’s his fv too besides the old school country. Glad you had time to make it to the gym with your new job keeping you so busy…how do you like yoga?

Yoga is okay, a little too slow for me. I tend to get bored and have a difficult time slowing down my mind. It tends to wander during a class like yoga. Which I realize is part of why I should do yoga.

You took the words right out of my mouth Bennie 😉
