The Cheese FairyIt’s been way too long since we’ve had a visit from the #WDACheeseFairy!

I’m sure she’s spent the last few months basking under the sun, eating luscious green grass, and catching up with the herd.

Now that it’s the Holiday season she’s ready to spread some seasonal joy with the always popular gift of cheese!

I love to hear about other’s holiday traditions so I thought it would be fun for you to share with us a special holiday tradition that involves the person you think would LOVE a visit from the #WDACheeseFairy.

Rocking W CheeseAs a child we spent every Christmas Day over at my Grandma Bea’s house. She spent hours cleaning and preparing a feast for all of us to enjoy (something I never truly appreciated until I became an adult and hosted my first holiday meal). My absolute favorite part of the meal was the chicken nuggets…crazy right? She always made some for the picky eaters and it was a treat for me because Ma never made them for us! I know that she would love this beautiful basket of artesian cheese to share with her guests!

All you have to do to nominate a loved one (family, friend, co worker, or even neighbor) to receive the gift of cheese from the #WDACheeseFairy is share a Holiday Memory below that has them in it! Let us know why you think they’d love a basket. Please make sure you know their address so we can have the #WDACheeseFairy deliver their artisan cheese basket to them just in time for everyone to enjoy for the holidays!

This #giveaway will end 6pm MST on December 16!

My mom Mary Heinen. She is always feeding the whole family and loves to find new things to try. She works 40 hours a week and then goes home and puts in endless hours on the ranch. She deserves something special.

  2. Jenni Trimmer says:

When I was growing up, we went to Grammy’s for Christmas with Mom’s side of the family on Christmas Eve. Then our family had our Christmas and breakfast on Christmas morning. That evening we went to Grandma’s for Christmas with Dad’s side of the family. It was loud and chaotic and fun and delicious, and I miss it like nobody’s business!! Now we’re all scattered around the country, and aren’t able to get together for Christmas, but I’d love for my Mom to have that basket to celebrate with the family that can come. Go visit her, #WDACheeseFairy!! She’s a great Mom!!!

  3. Patti O'Dwyer says:

I would like to nominate my Sister, Cathleen Kimball, a six year survivor of Stage IV metastatic liver cancer who is going through some health issues at the moment. My whole life she was like a Mother to me. One of my first memories is of her showing me a rabbit that had been run over in the road and her telling me not to go into the road so that wouldn’t happen to me. She is the one in the family we all seek out to finalize Christmas plans. All the Grandkids go to her house to make Christmas cookies! I hope I never have to go through a Christmas without her!

  4. Rachel says:

My dear neighbor, Diane, helped me decorate my first home for Christmas. I was brand new to outdoor decorating and she took the time to help me pick out items and put them up in the freezing cold. Every Christmas when I decorate I think of her. She would love a visit from the cheese fairy because she is originally from Wisconsin and appreciates a good cheese!!

  5. stephanie scales campbell says:

My husband is the biggest cheese lover i know he eats it everyday if we have it in the house and loves trying new ones. He has worked super hard over the last 3yrs to get our home remodeled so we have more space since we adopted our grandchildren and i would love to win to show him so extra love with one of his favorite foods.

  6. Julie Waldron says:

I nominate our oldest daughter, Alexandra. She just got married in May. I have too many holiday memories of her to mention! One that stands out is when she was three and we were at Christmas Eve with my family. Every time she would open a gift she would then say “another one”. She wasn’t greedy about it, just matter of fact. She is such a great kid & so appreciative. She’s always been so thoughtful & caring. And she loves cheese 😉 That was “handed” down from my Dad(we lost him 8 years ago), actually a few of his grandchildren do even my 2 year old great niece. 🙂 She would be so excited with this!

  7. allyson tice says:

i nominate my mom and dad! They both have always made every Christmas morning a blessing with presents and love! that is the holiday memory that my son and I will always have! The love they showed us, and still do to this day! but never is there a lack of love under thrit roof!

  9. Jessie Redding says:

I nominate my husband; the past few years money has been tight for one reason or another but he always makes it work. Makes sure I want for nothing, somehow giving me amazing holiday seasons, packed with new memories every year!!

  10. Stacey Grantham says:

I nominate my Mom and Dad. They have had a very rough couple of years amidst hard economic times and several health scares. My Dad is currently in the hospital due to go home soon for a large colon tumor resection. Two years ago, he had a brain tumor removed. His health has been failing, and it is my Mom in her loyalty and love that sits beside him every day and night. They have lost nearly everything, but each other. This would bring a smile to their faces, a precious thing indeed.

    1. Stacey Grantham says:

I wanted to add, that Christmas is her favorite holiday. We have baked sugar cookies and decorated them yearly, then shared them with neighbors and friends. We still do this.

  11. robin s. says:

I nominate my mom. She is such a great woman. Every day she works so hard. On Christmas she makes sure that our dinner is wonderful. My dad has several allergies so his dishes have to be made separate. On top of that she always makes her grandchildren a special dish of their choice. She is a kind and loving woman who deserves so much. We are blessed to have her as our mom.

  12. R Smith says:

I would nominate my best friend Annie. This is the first Christmas she is celebrating with a little one and its also been one of the hardest. She is suffering from PPD (she is getting help). She is an amazing mom but she questions herself too much and wonders if she is really doing that great. I would love to see her win something like this to brighten the mood a little. She is absolutely the best mom my little nephew could have.

  13. sharon says:

I would nominate my hubby, because he is from the land of Tillamook and always craves well crafted cheese instead of store brands. We like to tour food shops and take tasting tours all the time, including cheese!

  14. Carmen Rudnick says:

My husband absolutely loves cheese! I’d love to win this for him. My favorite holiday memory was the one he proposed. I remember driving in his tow truck to a Christmas party and he said he had to make a stop at his sister’s house. He went inside and came back out and asked me to step out of the truck. He had his nephew come up with a Pokeball and inside was a ring and his nephew said “My uncle chooses you!” It was the sweetest moment ever!!

  15. Vanessa says:

Starting from my very first Christmas as a baby, my brother has always given me a special ornament representing something that was important in my life that year.

  16. Amy says:

I nominate my husband. He takes the time and adds the love to every meal he serves myself and our kids. Most of his dishes include cheese like pizza, mac & cheese, pasta, potatoes and our youngest’s favorite…Grilled Cheese! Everything is from scratch, his favorite is pizza. This is no ordinary pizza, he comes up with such strange combinations that it never, ever gets boring! He made one last week with an olive oil base, caramelized onions, Bosc pears, chopped Medjool dates, candied pecans, bacon, brie, arugula and smoked Cheddar…It was tasty!

  17. Laurie Nykaza says:

i nominate my mom having watch her go through having my sister who was just 1 month old then my dad having been in a fire at work a few weeks before Christmas and was in the hospital for almost 1 year which was terrible. Dad has since passed but she is strong. Now she has had breast Cancer is doing well but went through with me watching my daughter have Cancer at 7 and my son having a heart transplant at 19. Always being at the hospital with me through my kids journey it has not been an easy life for her at all.

  18. Laurie Nykaza says:

Sorry forgot to put how much she loves cheese and eats some everyday so she would love to serve it for her family at Christmas

  19. Leah Shumack says:

My bestie is always hosting wine and cheese tasting parties at her house and never asks for anything! I’d love to be able to surprise her with this!

  20. Senna Kory says:

I’d absolutely love to see my mom receive this! She is so hardworking and always thinks of others before herself! She is a cheese lover at heart and this would be such a nice Christmas gift.

  21. Katie R says:

I also have a grandma Bea! And she always cooked for hours for us on the holidays. She would make me macaroni and cheese and I loved that. She also made me hard boiled eggs because I didn’t like deviled eggs. And she always made sure I had a pumpkin pie. Now that I’m older, I have to eat gluten free and she makes sure to make me a whole pie for myself! How awesome is that. I would like to nominate her and my grandfather because I’m so blessed to still have them while I’m 25 and they have done so much for me. My grandfather got diagnosed this year with stage four bone cancer and I am wanting to make this Christmas extremely special for them because, well, you never know what the future will hold good or bad. They are hosting Christmas again for us this year :). What a wonderful #WDACheeseFairy!

  26. Marissa says:

I nominate my sister Jessica! She has been going through a rough time this past month, including a lay off from her job. While this is hard for anyone who experiences it, she is a single mom and worried about providing for the holidays. She is doing everything she can to find work before so she can make her daughter Cloe’s Christmas amazing. She is so selfless and thinks only of herself. PLUS she is obsessed with cheese. Literally obsessed. I don’t think she goes a day without eating some type of cheese. #WDACheeseFairy needs to visit her!

  27. Darlene Owen says:

I nominate my son. He is a husband and a father of 4 with one on the way. He works very hard at his job, then when he comes home he has a second job making vinyl signs for people (usually religious). He also is a very devoted father that teaches his children the words of the Bible for about a half hour every night.

She made it so interesting and the time just flew by~! #WDACheeseFairy.

  42. Marie says:

I would like to nominate my friend Lynne who is a HUGE cheese lover and who is sad right now because she has no place to go this Christmas. One of my favorite memories of Christmas past shared with her is the year we went caroling when we were in our teens (we are in our 50’s now). It was the one and only time we did that and I still can’t recall who’s idea it was.

  43. KENNETH OHL says:

  44. Aaron says:

I would share with my mother. She loves cheese.

  45. June S. says:

My wonderful Christmas story is about my youngest brother Gordon. I believe I was about seven or eight years old at the time. My two older brothers and the youngest had just got done watching The Little Drummer Boy on our black and white TV. This was back in the sixties, all of a sudden Gordon came into the living room with toilet paper wrapped around his shoulders that was holding up a coffee can. He was using two spoons as his sticks and pretending that he was a little drummer boy. It was rather funny, and we sill remind him of it today at age 55.

  46. Jerry Marquardt says:

I would choose my father Robert to receive the services of the #WDACheeseFairy. Merry Christmas and I would like to thank you for giving us a chance to win this today.

  47. Kristina R says:

I’d like to nominate my mom. Every Christmas Eve, we gather at my parents’ house after church for hors d’oeuvres. There’s aways some yearly staples like cheese and crackers, cocktail shrimp and taco dip…and usually we try something a little more culinarily adventurous. A few years ago we bought a live lobster and tried boiling it up (after taking lots of pictures playing with it first!). While we’re snacking, we listen to Christmas music and always play at least one new family board game. It would be awesome if the #WDACheeseFairy made our cheese and cracker tray the adventurous part of our Christmas Eve hors d’oeuvres night this year!
